Soleal Unternehmerkapital AG (“Soleal”) invests the private capital of its founders in majority stakes in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. The aim is to develop the majority stakes further in the long term in collaboration with management. The Soleal family of companies currently consists of 17 investments in various industries with a total of around 1,300 employees (see also www.soleal.ch). The dynamic team consists of the two founding partners, an Operations Director, and a Principal, supported by an office specialist, and is to be supplemented by an entrepreneurial Operations Director. The family of companies and the team are set to grow further in the future.

What you need to offer

  • A university degree or technical college degree
  • At least 5 years of line experience with personnel and P&L responsibility
  • At least two years as a consultant at a strategy consulting firm
  • A down-to-earth personality aged 35-45 who is comfortable working in an SME environment, takes initiative, and is familiar with the corporate culture of family-run businesses
  • A strong leader with excellent communication skills and charisma who can communicate at all levels (from CEO to production staff) and enjoys a varied range of tasks
  • Solution-oriented implementer/doer with strong conceptual and analytical skills
  • Independent, entrepreneurial personality with a high degree of initiative (no corporate structures in place).
  • Willingness to travel within the DACH region (up to 40% of the time)
  • Native German speaker

What you will do

  • Over time, take on responsibility for 3-5 companies in the Soleal family of companies
  • Act as an interface between Soleal owners and the management of portfolio companies
  • Join the board of directors of portfolio companies, if necessary
  • Define strategy together with the respective management and monitoring its implementation
  • Leading or monitoring strategic/operational projects in the company in consultation with the managing director
  • Holding monthly meetings with local management to discuss business performance, issues relating to customers, suppliers, production, etc., as well as ongoing projects
  • Responsible for recruiting management in succession cases and involvement in the recruitment of employees at the highest management level
  • Controlling of financial figures, covenant reporting to financing bank and operational KPI at owner level
  • Establishment of a network in the market of the respective PF company (among other things with the aim of finding possible additional acquisitions)
  • Supporting new acquisitions for the Soleal family of companies (collaborating on due diligence, searching for potential successors, etc.) with the aim of subsequently taking over the management of the company
